Hi,
I just wanted clarification on the issue of copyright when it comes to purchasing slides.
I have bought a number of slides from an online trading site. These slides are originals, not duplicates.
They have passed through a number of traders' hands, obviously starting with the original photographer selling the slide. It is all legal.
What are the rules about me using these slides? Is it still breach of copyright even if I own this, the original image?
The slide does not have the photographer's name or any copyright statement written or printed on it.
Any help appreciated!

Not much I can really say here.
If the original photographer sold them with the copyright, i.e. he sold his copyright to the purchaser, and you then bought the copyright to the images when you purchased them, you will be the copyright owner.
If you are uncertain, you should check with the person selling the slides. |
