[i][color=indigo]Hi,
I have two issues....
Firstly, I am recording a CD in the summer and p[lan to use backing ttracks, which looking at them, have copyright attached. How do I use these legally? Who do I have to contact etc?
Also, I have recently opened a singing academy and will use tracks for students to sing to. What happens if I need to pass tracks onto them to learn from? Does this infringe copyright?
Please help
Thanks

issue 1 - you need the permission of the copyright owner to use them. you could contact the publisher of the recording which should be available from the CD cover
issue 2 - so long as the playing of the tracks are for purposes of instruction and the audience involved include students, tutors and others who are directly connected with these activities, it should be fine to play them. they may not be copied for the students that would be an infringement. |
