About Copyright Aid

Hello!

I stumbled across this site whilst trying to find a free online source for the full text of the 1956 Copyright Act (you don't know one by any chance?).

I was just wondering who the owner/Copyright Aid is and whether there were any information about their background etc.? -I couldn't find any on the website.

1956 Act - Blimey! I don't think I've ever been asked about that, and sorry but no, I don't know where you would get a copy. Certainly HMSO don't go back that far online as everything prior to 1988 was printed only (not electronic)

A quick search online and it seems that Oxford Journals claim to have one, but it looks like they want a fee before you can see it (grrr!) http://slr.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/6/2/29

Maybe your best bet is to contact HMSO directly and see if they can send you a printed copy, (again not free though).

Thanks for looking anyway. I am looking at material created pre-1st August 1989 on a question of ownership.

Interestingly enough, the 1956 Act treats newspaper employees differently to other types of employees. The texts I have available comment as much but don't include the wording of the actual provision.
